ওয়াদুদ খন্দকার || Here is the read-through of the script in English:This is Belai Beel in Kaliganj, Gazipur—once a thriving lifeline for thousands of farmers. Today, it has turned into a massive graveyard of agricultural dreams. The endless suffering of local farmers knows no bounds, as a relentless invasion of water hyacinths and thick weeds suffocates the entire water body. For generations, this beel provided life, water, and rich harvests. But now, local farmers are left helpless, staring at their fields with absolute despair. The water is heavily clogged. How can they clear miles of this thick, interwoven green trap? It requires immense physical strength, thousands of hours, and an army of laborers. But here lies the crushing reality: the math simply does not add up. The daily wages for agricultural laborers have skyrocketed. Hiring enough hands to manually clear these weeds drains a farmer's entire life savings before a single seed is even sown. And the ultimate tragedy? Paddy prices in the market are abysmally low. The price of rice simply doesn't match the soaring cost of production.Every single step—from clearing the suffocating weeds to buying fertilizer, paying high labor wages, and harvesting—costs more than what the farmers get back at the market. They are investing double, only to lose half. They are working to feed the nation, while their own families sink into crippling debt. The local community cannot fight this environmental and economic crisis alone. Manual labor is no longer enough to battle this massive overgrowth. We need urgent government intervention. We need modern mechanical weed harvesters, fair price regulations for crop sales, and immediate agricultural subsidies to save the farmers of Kaliganj. If we do not act today, Belai Beel will completely disappear, taking with it the livelihoods of thousands. It is time to clear the weeds, fix the market prices, and give our farmers the dignity they deserve.Save Belai Beel. Support Our Farmers.
